Hyderabad to Host Allegro Microsystems' New R&D Centre
Allegro Microsystems, a global leader in producing magnetic sensors, semiconductors, and chips used in the automotive and electric vehicle industries, has chosen Hyderabad for its new Research and Development (R&D) centre. This announcement was made by IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu during a media briefing at the Secretariat on Friday. The briefing followed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with representatives from Allegro.
The new R&D centre is expected to create 500 jobs for skilled professionals in Hyderabad. Minister Sridhar Babu expressed his satisfaction that Allegro selected Hyderabad because of the state’s industry-friendly environment. He also assured that the Telangana government would provide full support to help the company establish its centre smoothly.
Allegro’s decision to set up operations in Hyderabad is seen as a major boost for the semiconductor chip manufacturing industry in Telangana. The company’s products are widely used in electric vehicles, robotic automation, and signal design. Allegro is also a key player in battery management and power chip production, working with well-known global companies like BMW.
The event was attended by Allegro Microsystems CEO Vineet Nargolwala, along with senior vice presidents Suman Narayan and Max Glover. Minister Sridhar Babu emphasized that this development would further strengthen Telangana’s reputation as a hub for technological innovation and industrial growth.
