Former Press Academy chairman Allam Narayana announced on Sunday that the Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) is willing to have a conversation with the government to address journalists’ demands and unresolved issues. The TUWJ State executive committee gathered and agreed to initiate discussions with the government in order to address journalists’ concerns. Narayana, the president of TUWJ, expressed his greetings to the government and emphasized their determination to fulfill the promises made for the welfare of journalists by engaging in talks with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
During the meeting at TUWJ office in Uppal Bhagayat, Narayana mentioned that the union will focus on discussing key issues with the government, such as a Rs 10 lakh healthcare insurance and the distribution of housing sites for journalists in Hyderabad and districts. He also emphasized the importance of the government taking steps to issue cashless health cards, and stated that the union will work towards achieving this goal. Additionally, he mentioned that new district TUWJ executive committees will be formed before February 29, and a State-level executive meeting (Maha Sabhalu) will be held in March. Narayana also announced that a trust will be established soon to construct the union building.
In other news, A Vishnuvardhan Reddy has been elected as the president of the Telangana Electronic Media Journalists’ Union, while P Yoganandam has been elected as the treasurer.
