    Akarshana Sathish, a 12-year-old eighth grader at Hyderabad Public School in Begumpet, has made it into the India Book of Records for establishing ten libraries at a young age.

    She was honored at a ceremony attended by Union Minister of Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy and an adjudicator from the India Book of Records, Dr Dandi Vasudha Rani. Akarshana is now aiming to set up a total of 25 libraries and plans to establish 15 more by December 2024.

    During a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 18, 2024, Akarshana was encouraged to continue her efforts in building libraries for people. So far, she has collected over 7,008 used books to stock the ten libraries she has already established.
