Old City in Hyderabad is experiencing various development initiatives ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is leading this inauguration spree, with party president Asaduddin Owaisi inaugurating projects worth crores of rupees and organizing job fairs in Old City. More activities are planned in the coming days.

To address the lack of development in Old City, the AIMIM has undertaken several developmental programs and has more projects in the pipeline to improve infrastructure. The party has also fulfilled its promise of providing jobs to unemployed youth by hosting job fairs and offering employment opportunities.

The AIMIM believes in the motto “our work is our identity” and has been actively working on the ground since winning the State Assembly elections. With the Lok Sabha elections approaching, the party has started its campaigning by undertaking various developmental works.

The Majlis has a strong presence in Muslim-majority constituencies in Old City, evident from past voting patterns. Over the past few days, Asad Owaisi and other MLAs from the party have inaugurated various projects in their respective segments. These include projects like schools, community halls, and other infrastructure developments.

The MLAs are also focusing on upgrading drinking water pipelines, sewage pipelines, and widening nalas in their constituencies. Additionally, a Kiosk street vending zone worth crores of rupees is planned for Malakpet.

The Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) is progressing rapidly in the Old City area, with the construction of flyovers and roads. The drinking water supply has significantly improved in the last eight years, with over 2.5 lakh tap connections provided under the free water supply scheme.

To fulfill their promise of providing jobs, the AIMIM organized job fairs in Nampally and Yakutpura. Over 1,000 youth secured employment in various companies through these events. An awareness program for employment abroad was also hosted by the MLA of Malakpet, which saw the participation of thousands of people. A job mela will be organized in Bahadurpura on February 15.

The AIMIM has maintained its stronghold in Hyderabad politics for over four decades, unaffected by political waves and changes in the State. This is due to the high concentration of Muslim voters in the State capital and certain districts.
