Hyderabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLA from Nampally, Mohammed Majid Hussain, announced on Wednesday that the party opposes a new project for power bill collection in the Old City. This project has been given to the Adani Group.
Hussain stated that the AIMIM is against the privatization of the power sector, which includes GENCO, TRANSCO, and other discoms. He expressed concern about giving the responsibility of power bill collection to Adani Power in the Old City.
He also urged the Congress government to keep all the promises made in its manifesto. This includes implementing the six guarantees promised by the party by finding the necessary resources.
Additionally, Hussain mentioned that the AIMIM supports the government in its fight to secure the state’s fair share of central resources. He urged the government to fulfill all promises made to Telangana under the AP Reorganisation Act.
Last month, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy reportedly stated in New Delhi that the Adani Group will take over power distribution in Hyderabad’s Old City.
