The AIMIM party has decided to support the AIADMK party in Tamil Nadu for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. This decision was announced by AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi, who is also the MP for Hyderabad. AIMIM’s Tamil Nadu unit president and other leaders met with AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswamy, who assured them that his party will not form an electoral alliance with the BJP in the future.

Owaisi stated that AIADMK has promised to oppose the CAA, NPR, and NRC, which is why AIMIM has decided to form an electoral alliance with them. Despite not being part of any major alliances like the NDA or UPA, Owaisi urged the people of Tamil Nadu to support AIADMK’s candidates in the upcoming elections.

Although Owaisi expressed a desire to visit Tamil Nadu and meet with AIADMK leaders and supporters, he was unable to do so as he was busy campaigning for his party candidates in other states. The AIADMK party, which ended its alliance with the BJP-led NDA last year, is now contesting the Lok Sabha polls in partnership with DMDK, Puthiya Tamilagam, and the Social Democratic Party of India.

Out of the 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu, AIADMK is contesting in 32 seats, while DMDK has five seats, and Puthiya Tamilagam and the Social Democratic Party of India have one seat each. The polling for all Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu is scheduled for April 19.
