In Gadwal, the CPI (AITUC) District Presidents, B. Anjaneyulu, and CITU District Secretary V.V. Narasimha organized a protest in front of the collector office. They were protesting against the Central BJP government’s plans to privatize and sell Singareni coal blocks. The labor unions demanded that the privatization be stopped, criticizing Prime Minister Modi for allegedly selling public assets to corporates.

A dharna was organized under the auspices of AITUC and CITU unions in front of the Jogulamba Gadwal District Collector’s office. This was part of a statewide call to protest against the Central BJP government’s attempt to privatize Singareni coal blocks. Loud slogans were raised against the central government, specifically targeting Prime Minister Modi and Telangana BJP leaders.

Addressing the workers, AITUC (CPI) District President B. Anjaneyulu and CITU District Secretary V. Narasimha emphasized that natural resources should be available to every citizen and managed by the government for the public good. They criticized the government for not using resources for the benefit of the people.

The protest saw participation from various union leaders and workers. A petition was submitted to AO Bhadrappa as the District Collector was not present. The unions warned of a larger scale protest in the future if their demands were not addressed. Many workers also joined in the demonstration to show their support.
