On Monday, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels. During the meeting, Jaishankar conveyed personal greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed bilateral cooperation in trade and technology, as well as contemporary strategic concerns. The meeting also included Commerce and Industries Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Skill Development and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
Jaishankar is in Brussels for the first meeting of the India-EU Trade and Technology Council, set to take place on Tuesday. After meeting with Belgium’s PM, the Indian ministerial team also met with EU Commission to discuss trade, technology, and geopolitics.
Jaishankar arrived in Brussels after a three-day tour of Sweden where he had high-level discussions, including at the India Trilateral Forum and the European Union Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum in Stockholm.
