Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2023, moving up to fifth position in the points table. RCB’s stand-in-skipper, Virat Kohli, praised Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis for their century stand, adding 127 runs for the third wicket in only 66 balls. This was the third time the pair crossed the 100-run mark in seven matches so far this season. Kohli stated that the counter-attack was even better than the Chennai game, as Maxwell took the game away in just four overs, with the team thinking that 160 might have been enough. However, Kohli stated that the way Maxwell and du Plessis batted helped RCB to reach 190 runs.
Du Plessis extended his overall tally to 405 runs in just seven matches with his fifth half-century, which is the most for any batter so far. On the other hand, Maxwell struck his third fifty of this IPL. Kohli also gave an update that Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood might be available from the next game before praising Mohammed Siraj, who is currently the Purple Cap holder. Siraj has been leading the attack and has closed out games against Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals. Whenever Hazlewood comes in, Kohli hopes that RCB will look like a different attack.
RCB will next play Kolkata Knight Riders at home on April 26.
