The Telangana High Court is considering a writ petition filed by TS NSUI president Balmoori Venkat Narsing Rao and two others asking for a CBI inquiry into the TSPSC paper leak case. The State has filed an additional status report, and Justice Reddy will pass orders after reviewing the reports and contentions of the petitioners. Congress Legal Cell president Vivek Thanka argued that 80% of TSPSC exam takers are from lower and middle classes and that the investigation should be independent and transparent. The Advocate-General submitted that the investigation was proceeding correctly and that the State had canceled exams for the larger interest of students.
Journalist Chintapandu Naveen Kumar, also known as Teenmaar Mallanna, has filed a writ petition in the high court seeking a direction to the police to open his Q News office. The office was locked after police seized computers, hard discs, and equipment containing important information against top government leaders. The petitioner claims that police are acting as agents of the government and are preventing him from performing his legitimate duty as a journalist. The hearing of the petition may come up before the single bench comprising Justice Vijaysen Reddy on Tuesday.
