Mulugu: Additional Collector, Local Bodies, P Sreeja emphasized the importance of keeping the environment clean to prevent the spread of seasonal diseases. She stated that sanitation management should be a top priority.
During a review of sanitation practices with officials on Tuesday, Sreeja stressed the need for special attention to be given to sanitation. She instructed that roads be cleaned daily, drainages be cleared, water not be left standing on roads, and plastic not be littered on roads.
Sreeja also urged ward officials and sanitation supervisors to inspect sanitation measures in the field every morning. She warned that neglecting sanitation could lead to an increase in seasonal diseases.
Noting that sanitation work in the district was not meeting expectations and water was accumulating on roads in many areas, Sreeja recommended regular fogging in villages, measures to prevent water pooling after rainfall, and application of oil balls to deter mosquito breeding.
The review meeting was attended by APD Venkatanarayana, MPDO, MP Olu, Panchayat secretaries, technical assistants, and other officials.
