    The Adani Group has donated Rs 25 crore to help with flood relief efforts in Andhra Pradesh. This contribution comes in response to the severe damage caused by heavy rains and flooding earlier in September.

    Karan Adani, the Managing Director of Adani Ports, personally handed the cheque to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada.

    Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, shared the news of the donation on social media. He highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting areas affected by the floods. So far, Andhra Pradesh has received around Rs 350 crore in donations from various organizations and individuals across India.

    Several districts in the state were hit hard by torrential rains in the first week of September. The Budameru stream overflowed, leading to severe waterlogging, especially in Vijayawada. Thousands of homes were flooded, affecting approximately 2.5 lakh people, and many families lost their household items to the rising waters.

    The floods have taken a heavy toll on the region. Forty people lost their lives, and hundreds of animals also perished. Relief efforts are still ongoing, with support coming from Telangana, other states, industrialists, and philanthropists both in India and abroad.
