Removing GST (Goods and Services Tax) on life and medical insurance could make these important services more affordable. This change might encourage more people to buy insurance, which is crucial for financial security. It aligns with the idea that life and health insurance are essential for everyone’s safety.

Shaik Salauddin, the founder president of Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union, believes this move will make insurance more accessible and help more people get coverage.

Adnan Qamar, the Telangana president of All India Pasmanda Muslim Mahaaz, thinks removing GST on life insurance will especially help vulnerable groups. He says it will boost their financial stability and support their socio-economic development. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s vision of affordable life insurance means more families can have financial protection.

Mir Firasath Ali Baqri, a BJP leader, sees this as a significant step for the post-2024 elections. He believes it will benefit lower and middle-class people and show the strength of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. By making insurance more affordable, more people will invest in their well-being and security.

Social activist SQ Masood argues that taxes on health services burden poor and middle-class individuals. He suggests the government should remove GST on insurance and other health-related services. Instead, taxes could be placed on harmful products like tobacco and alcohol to promote public health.

Asif Sohail, a political analyst, agrees that eliminating GST on insurance premiums will provide financial relief to citizens. Taxing essential services like insurance feels unfair, as it adds an extra burden on those trying to protect their families. Removing this tax would make insurance more accessible and encourage more people to invest in their health and security. He also points out that many people do not receive good treatment in government hospitals, so removing GST would help more people afford private insurance for better medical care.
