Gutta Sukhender Reddy, the Chairman of Telangana Legislative Council, announced that he will not take part in the upcoming elections. Instead, he said that his son Amit will contest if the party chief gives him the ticket. Reddy confirmed that he will still work for the party, even if his son is not chosen to run for office.

Reddy has four years left in his current term as a Member of the Legislative Council and will not run in this election. He explained that simply getting an entry card into politics is not enough to secure a future in politics; one must also have the support of the people.

Reddy expressed confidence in his party, saying that BRS will win in Telangana for the third time, and that some Congress leaders will join their party in the joint Nalgonda district. He believes that his party will win all the seats in this district. Some leaders from Khammam and Mahabubnagar districts complained that they were imagining too much by joining the Congress.

Reddy also stated that they will get more seats in Khammam than in the last election. He disclosed that KCR has already stated that his policy is to have an alliance without Congress, which is why he is not attending the Patna meeting. Finally, Reddy criticized the Centre for failing to implement the promises of partition to the Telugu states.
