The Telangana High Court was informed by Additional Advocate-General Imran Khan that the cheques for eligible beneficiaries of “Kalyana Lakshmi” and “Shadi Mubarak” will be distributed. So far, 71 cheques have been sent to the banks, with a validity until August 2024, not June 27 as initially thought.
Khan assured the court that none of the cheques will expire, and all eligible beneficiaries will receive the financial benefits outlined in the government orders. He also mentioned that those who may face losses due to delayed disbursement were not part of the current court case.
The issue of delayed cheque issuance was seen as a political ploy, according to Khan. He refuted claims that Revenue officials were not making arrangements for cheque distribution, stating that there was no truth to such allegations. Khan requested two weeks to provide a detailed response with all relevant information.
The court was addressing a petition from Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy, who alleged that Revenue officials were preventing him from distributing the cheques. The hearing was adjourned until July 15 for the filing of a counter-affidavit.
