In Gadwal district, a thief stole a police vehicle that was patrolling the National Highway in the Itikyal police station area. The police officers noticed the vehicle was missing and chased after it. The thief abandoned the vehicle near a petrol station but took the keys with him. The incident happened on Monday.
The Itikyal police had parked their patrol vehicle to divert traffic near Erra valli square on Monday. While they were out of the vehicle, a thief took the opportunity to drive away unnoticed. After realizing the vehicle was gone, the police went to the toll gate near Alampur square to ask for help in locating the stolen patrol vehicle. They also started searching for it themselves. Eventually, they found the vehicle near Kodandapuram petrol station but the keys were missing.
The police are actively looking for the thief responsible for stealing the patrol vehicle. This incident has raised questions about why the keys were left in the vehicle while it was parked. Alampur CI Ravi Babu, who was on a different duty at the time, stated that he was unaware of the theft when asked about it.
