The fire department conducted a training drill at a hospital in Nizamabad to teach people how to use fire extinguishers. The drill was part of the Fire Week celebrations from April 14 to 20. The district fire officer, P Narasingarao, spoke about the importance of preventing and controlling fires in multi-storey buildings. He also reminded people to be vigilant about urban flooding and fire accidents in different seasons.

The fire officer expressed concerns about the increasing number of fire accidents in cities, which can cause loss of life. That’s why it’s crucial to make arrangements for fire prevention during the construction of buildings and take precautionary measures during any disaster situation. He urged people to follow general fire safety precautions, such as having an escape plan and installing smoke alarms.

During the training, firefighters imparted awareness of firefighting, first aid, and the use of fire extinguishers to doctors, nurses, security personnel, and common citizens. The authorities were on alert in high-risk fire stations, and they warned that the lengthy heatwave across Nizamabad could increase the risk of urban fires in cities, towns, mandal headquarters, and forest fires in tribal areas.
