    BRS leaders have demanded strict action against the person who attempted to rape a woman on an MMTS train in Hyderabad.

    BRS MLA P Sabitha Indra Reddy criticized the lack of security for women in the state. She explained that the accused entered the women’s coach and tried to attack the victim. To escape, the woman jumped off the train and got injured. She urged the government to provide medical treatment for the victim. She also pointed out that crime and rape cases in the state have increased by 22 percent. She called on the state police to take action to ensure women’s safety.

    Harish Rao also expressed concern over the incident. He questioned what the government, police, and railway staff were doing when such crimes were happening in the state capital. He held them responsible for the victim’s suffering. He also criticized the law and order situation, saying that under the current government, women’s safety has become uncertain.

    Rao further stated that, compared to last year, the number of rape cases has increased by 29 percent, with 2,945 cases registered this year. This means that around 250 rape cases are reported every month. He accused the government of staying silent while women continue to face violence, harassment, and even murder in the state.
