Congress Leader Demands More Funds for Ranga Reddy District

Speaking in the Assembly on Monday, Reddy highlighted that while the government earns significant revenue from the district, it does not invest enough in its progress. He stressed the need to increase the budget to boost development in the region.

Criticizing the previous BRS government, Reddy accused it of making false promises about transforming Hyderabad into cities like Dallas, Istanbul, and London. He also mocked their pledge to clean Hussain Sagar Lake and fill it with ‘coconut water,’ stating that no real improvements had been made.

He praised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for his efforts to modernize cities in Telangana. He mentioned the upcoming “Fourth City” project and advised members to invest in land near the area, as prices were still low but expected to rise.

Reddy also urged the Chief Minister to take strict action against those illegally occupying water bodies. He criticized the BRS government for neglecting the expansion of the Metro Rail system, which could have helped ease growing traffic congestion in the city.
