Residents Blame GHMC for Ignoring Civic Problems

Hyderabad: People living in Kondapur, a fast-growing residential area in Hyderabad, are facing several civic issues. These include poor drainage, uncollected garbage, and an increasing number of stray dogs. Despite repeated complaints, residents say the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has not taken any serious action.

    Overflowing Sewage and Health Risks

More than 1,000 residents, especially those near Masjid Banda, are struggling with dirty and unhealthy conditions due to clogged drains and overflowing sewage. Locals report that rainwater often mixes with sewage, creating a bad smell and increasing the spread of mosquito-borne diseases.

Garbage Piles Up, Stray Dogs Multiply

Apart from the drainage problem, waste management is also a major issue. Residents complain that garbage is not collected for days, leading to overflowing bins. This, in turn, attracts stray dogs and rodents, making the area even more unhygienic.

The increasing number of stray dogs has become a serious concern, especially for children and the elderly. Many residents have reported frequent dog attacks. “Even after several complaints, GHMC has not taken proper steps to control the stray dog population,” one resident said.

    Residents Demand Immediate Action

Frustrated by the lack of response from GHMC, residents of Kondapur are now demanding urgent action. They are calling for sterilization drives to control the stray dog population, proper sewage management, and regular garbage collection.

These problems have existed for a long time, but the authorities continue to ignore them. “GHMC must act now before the situation gets worse,” a resident emphasized.

Since Kondapur is a key residential area, locals hope officials will take swift action to fix these ongoing issues before they become more serious.
