The District Agriculture Officer, Sakriya Naik, has announced that farmers in Gadwal district will receive agricultural machinery and equipment under the Central Government’s Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) scheme. He encouraged small and marginal women farmers, as well as SC and ST women farmers, to apply for the scheme.
For the financial year 2024-25, ₹56.88 lakh has been allocated for Gadwal district. By the end of March 2025, the selected beneficiaries will receive the necessary farming tools and machinery. The Agriculture Commissioner’s Office has issued instructions to ensure the timely selection of beneficiaries and the distribution of equipment.
Application and Selection Process
Farmers who wish to apply can submit their applications to their respective Mandal Agriculture Officers. The selection of beneficiaries will be based on their eligibility and the availability of equipment. Farmers who are selected will receive the machinery at a subsidized cost.
