    Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has asked the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) to provide financial support for rural development projects in the state. He specifically requested assistance under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) and urged the bank to offer low-interest loans to help implement these programs effectively.

    NABARD Chairman Shaji Krishnan V, along with other bank representatives, met with the Chief Minister to discuss various development plans. During the meeting, Revanth Reddy highlighted the need to strengthen cooperative societies in Telangana. He also suggested setting up new cooperative societies to provide better financial support to rural communities.

    The Chief Minister further requested NABARD to allocate funds for micro-irrigation projects. He proposed the introduction of a special scheme for women’s self-help groups (SHGs) and emphasized the importance of linking NABARD with Integrated Cooperative Development Projects (IKP), warehouses, and rice mills to increase milling capacity in the state.

    Additionally, Revanth Reddy suggested that NABARD should be involved in maintaining solar plants provided to women’s SHGs. He also stressed the need to improve rural connectivity, especially in newly formed gram panchayats. He instructed officials to ensure that the funds sanctioned for the current financial year are fully utilized by March 31 and encouraged maximizing the use of NABARD schemes in the next financial year.

    During the meeting, NABARD Chairman Shaji Krishnan V discussed the possibility of establishing new District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) in Telangana’s newly created districts. Telangana Agriculture Commission Chairman Kodanda Reddy and several public representatives also attended the meeting.
