Over the next three years, ₹4,500 crore will be spent on developing new municipalities and urban planning authorities to improve city infrastructure and living standards.

    Rapid Urban Growth

On March 19, 2025, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka presented the budget for the 2025–26 financial year. India’s First Net-Zero Future City

The Telangana government has also announced plans to develop India’s first Net-Zero Future City. This city will cover 765 sq. km across 56 villages between the Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar highways and will be managed by the newly formed Future City Development Authority (FCDA).

    The city will include:

Multimodal transport with a sustainable electric public transport system.
Green buildings and eco-friendly urban planning.
    – Special zones like AI City, Pharma Hub, Sports City, and Clean Energy Innovation Zone.

While the budget for this project has not been announced, it is expected to attract global investments and make Telangana a leader in sustainable urban development.
