The Telangana government has increased the budget for the Home Department to ₹10,188 crore for the financial year 2025-26. This is ₹624 crore (6.52%) more than the previous year’s budget of ₹9,564 crore. The Home Department’s share in the total state budget of ₹3,04,965 crore stands at 3.35%.
Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the government is committed to modernizing policing with advanced technology. The additional funds will be used to introduce better surveillance systems, digital crime tracking, and improved forensic capabilities to enhance public safety.
The government is also focusing on controlling drug-related crimes by implementing stricter enforcement measures and awareness campaigns. The increased budget will help in upgrading police infrastructure, providing better training, and supporting welfare programs for law enforcement personnel.
With this investment, the Telangana government aims to improve security, prevent crime, and make policing more effective across the state.
