Hyderabad police have filed a case against BRS LB Nagar MLA D Sudheer Reddy. He is accused of making inappropriate comments about Hasthinapuram Corporator Banoth Sujatha Nayak. The case has been registered under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The LB Nagar police have charged the MLA under various sections of the SC/ST Act along with Section 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Sujatha alleged that Sudheer Reddy made offensive remarks about her in front of the media near the DCP office in LB Nagar on March 17.
Sujatha filed a complaint stating that the MLA insulted her by mentioning her caste name. She also claimed that he made inappropriate statements suggesting an improper relationship between her and another political leader. She said these remarks were insulting and humiliating to her and her family. Additionally, she alleged that this was not the first time the MLA had made caste-based remarks against her.
