Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced the launch of the 'Rajiv Yuva Vikasam' programme. This is a ₹6,000 crore initiative that aims to provide employment opportunities to five lakh unemployed youth across the state.

Scheme Launched with a Focus on Marginalised Communities

The programme was formally launched at the Legislative Assembly premises in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, cabinet ministers, and representatives from various political parties.

This initiative is mainly targeted at youth from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), and Minority communities. The goal is to provide them with financial aid and employment opportunities, helping them achieve self-sufficiency.

Transparency and Skill Development Are Key

Speaking at the event, Revanth Reddy stressed the importance of transparency in implementing the scheme. He stated that the programme should prioritise skilled youth struggling to find jobs and must be free from corruption to ensure that only deserving individuals benefit.

To achieve this, the government will hold meetings at the mandal level, involving public representatives to help identify eligible candidates. Each constituency is expected to create employment for 4,000 to 5,000 youth.

Under this scheme, financial assistance will range from ₹50,000 to ₹4 lakh, depending on the individual’s eligibility and needs. Besides direct job placements, the programme will also provide vocational training to improve employability.

    Commitment to Transparent Governance

The Chief Minister also spoke about the government’s efforts to improve job recruitment processes. He mentioned that over 57,000 government jobs were filled with complete transparency.

Additionally, 22,000 teachers received promotions, and 30,000 teachers were transferred without any allegations of irregularities. The government has also cleared several pending departmental transfers that had been delayed for years.

    A New Approach to Administration

Revanth Reddy criticised the governance methods of the past, stating that previous policies were influenced by personal favours. However, he assured that his administration follows a transparent, policy-driven approach.

With the launch of 'Rajiv Yuva Vikasam', the Telangana government aims to empower the youth, create sustainable employment opportunities, and strengthen the economic foundation of marginalised communities.
