South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager, Arun Kumar Jain, has announced several safety and operational improvements to make train services smoother and more secure.

One of the key steps he suggested was installing at least two height gauges at all road under bridges (RUBs). These gauges will help protect railway tracks and bridge structures. He also directed officials to place speed indication boards with better visibility along the tracks to improve safety.

Mr. Jain also focused on the well-being of train crew members. He stressed the importance of ensuring enough rest for loco pilots, assistant loco pilots, and guards. To support them, he proposed modifying the alert call system by sending advance notifications before duty bookings, while also reducing unnecessary disturbances. Additionally, he emphasized the need for clean and hygienic crew lobbies to provide a better working environment.

Ensuring that trains run on time was another priority. He encouraged railway managers to improve schedules and enhance operational efficiency for both passenger and freight trains.

Above all, Mr. Jain reminded officials that safety should always be the top priority. He urged strict adherence to safety rules and suggested conducting regular counselling sessions for staff to reinforce best practices.

These directives were discussed during a review meeting and later shared in an official press release.
