Bandi Sanjay Kumar Dismisses Claims of Conspiracy Against Southern States

Union Minister of State for Home, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, has rejected accusations that the central government is working against the southern states by planning to change the number of Lok Sabha seats. He called these claims “absurd” and said no official decision has been made on the matter.

During his visit to Karimnagar on Saturday, he addressed concerns that the proposed delimitation, which is based on population, could negatively impact southern states while benefiting states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. However, he claimed that the BJP sees these fears as a tactic to divert attention from real issues.

Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged that opposition parties, including the DMK in Tamil Nadu, Congress in Karnataka and Telangana, and the Communist Party in Kerala, are working together to weaken the BJP. He stated that these parties avoid discussing public concerns and election promises, choosing instead to create unnecessary controversies for political gain. He warned that people would remember and reject such behavior.

Challenging the Congress, he dared them to hold an all-party meeting in the Assembly to discuss their election guarantees. He also criticized the state government for failing to manage water resources properly, leading to 10 lakh acres of crops drying up. He questioned whether the government would blame the Centre for this issue as well.

Bandi Sanjay Kumar accused both the Congress and BRS of playing political games instead of addressing real problems. He suggested that Congress is secretly supporting BRS to counter the BJP. He pointed out that Congress suspended Jagadish Reddy from the Assembly as part of this strategy but reminded them that people do not trust the BRS.

Speaking about central funds for Telangana, he claimed that while the Centre has approved Smart City funds, the state government has not provided its share. He criticized the Telangana government for failing to deliver on promises, such as financial aid for farmers, loan waivers, pensions, and unemployment stipends. He also highlighted the government’s failure to pay contractors, reimburse colleges, and clear pending bills for former sarpanches.

Finally, he compared the current Congress government to the previous BRS government, stating that people removed KCR from power for similar reasons. He also criticized the Telangana government for prioritizing events like Miss World over addressing issues such as rising drug-related crimes in Hyderabad. He questioned why the state was willing to spend hundreds of crores on such events instead of solving important public concerns.
