    The State Department of Employment & Training (DET) in Telangana, along with the Centre for Good Governance (CGG), organized an Industrial Roundtable Conference on the Life Sciences sector. The theme of the event was “Skilling Telangana for a Brighter Future.”

    Special Chief Secretary to the Labour and Employment Department, Sanjay Kumar, stated that the government is working to strengthen the skill development system. Efforts are being made to improve Industrial Training Institutions (ITIs) and involve private companies in managing them. He emphasized that young people are being trained in life sciences-related fields to meet industry needs.

    The main goal of the Industrial Roundtable Conference was to bridge the gap between government skill training programs and industry requirements. The discussion focused on the challenges in the life sciences sector, including the skills needed in pharmaceuticals, medical fields, and biotechnology.

    The event brought together experts from both the government and private industries. They discussed important topics such as skill requirements, training and retraining programs, job opportunities, entrepreneurship, and business skills.

    Several senior representatives from well-known organizations attended the conference. These included KIMS Group, Dr. Reddy’s Labs, Continental Hospitals, and Sai Life Sciences. Representatives from the Life Sciences Sector Skill Council and the Biotechnology Incubation Centre at Genome Valley were also present.
