    A 26-year-old man was arrested for snatching a gold chain from a woman at her home in KPHB Colony, Hyderabad. CCTV footage helped the police catch him. The accused, Uppu Sai Teja, is from West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, and was living in the same area.

    The incident happened on the morning of March 12. The woman was sweeping the front yard of her rented house on Road No. 4 when Sai Teja approached her, pretending to ask for water. As she went inside to get it, he followed her, grabbed the gold chain from her neck, and ran away. The woman tried to stop him but could not.

    According to the police, Sai Teja was struggling to maintain a lavish lifestyle with his job salary. In search of easy money, he decided to commit the crime. Fortunately, the entire incident was recorded on a CCTV camera, which became key evidence for the police.

    After the woman filed a complaint, a special police team was formed to track down the thief. Sai Teja was soon caught, and the stolen gold mangalsutra, weighing about one tola, was recovered. The police are now checking if he was involved in similar crimes.

    Authorities have urged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities. They also emphasized the importance of CCTV cameras in preventing and solving crimes.
