Chilkur Balaji Temple’s head priest, CS Rangarajan, met former Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu, on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Rangarajan presented Naidu with the blessings of Chilkur Balaji in the form of Sesha Vastram. He also spoke to him about the Deity Rights Movement and requested his support for the cause.

Rangarajan explained that taking a constitutional oath in the name of God does not mean one must worship deities. People are free to follow any religion, but they also have a duty to protect the rights of deities and ensure that deity worship continues in the sacred land of Shri Rama and the Land of Dharma.

He further stated that while individuals can choose their own beliefs, those who seek to eliminate deity worship should not hold constitutional positions. This is because they must take an oath in the name of God, which would disqualify them if they oppose deity worship. He gave an example, saying that a ruler like Tana Shah could take the oath, but not someone like Aurangzeb.
