Telangana Governor Calls for Collective Effort to Build a Prosperous State
Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma has urged people to work together with confidence and commitment to build a strong and successful Telangana. He said the state is already a hub of opportunities and has great potential in areas like economic growth, agriculture, technology, and social justice.
Speaking at the joint session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly during the Budget Session, the Governor highlighted the state’s achievements and future plans. He praised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s leadership, under which policies are designed to create opportunities, empower people, and ensure inclusive growth.
Vision for a Better Telangana
Governor Varma expressed confidence in Telangana’s progress and said the government is working to fulfill the dreams of its people. He shared the government’s focus on several key areas:
– Social and Economic Reforms: The state has conducted a survey to understand people’s needs. Based on this, it plans to introduce a law for 42% reservations for Backward Classes and a bill for categorizing Scheduled Castes.
– Agriculture: Telangana leads in rice production with 26 million metric tonnes. It has also introduced a ₹20,616.89 crore crop loan waiver scheme to help 2.5 million farmers.
– Energy Security: The government’s Clean and Green Energy Policy 2025 aims to promote sustainable energy, create jobs, and boost industrial growth.
– Land Governance: The Bhoobharati Act has been introduced to improve land services and provide security to citizens.
– Water Rights: Telangana is fighting for its fair share of Krishna River water at Tribunal II.
Empowering Women and Youth
The Governor highlighted efforts to support women and youth:
– For Women:
– Mahalakshmi Scheme: 149.63 million free bus journeys have helped women save ₹500.95 crore.
– Indira Mahila Shakti Mission: Aims to make 100,000 women entrepreneurs with ₹1 lakh crore in financial aid.
– Griha Jyoti Scheme: Provides 200 units of free electricity to 5 million low-income households.
– Affordable LPG Cylinders: 4.3 million families get cooking gas at ₹500 per cylinder.
– For Youth:
– Young India Skill University: Helps young professionals gain global skills.
– Advanced Technology Centres (#ATC): Enhances technical skills.
– 55,000+ Government Jobs: Provided in the past year.
– Young India Physical Education & Sports University: Aims to make Telangana a leader in sports.
Urban Development and Infrastructure
To make Hyderabad a world-class city, the government is working on several projects:
– Expanding the Metro Rail Network
– Musir River Rejuvenation Project
– Future City Development Authority: Covers 765 sq. km and aims to make Hyderabad a Net Zero City and a model for urban development.
Commitment to Progress
Governor Varma also mentioned the government’s focus on:
– Strengthening women’s self-help groups.
– Expanding the Aarogyasri health scheme to provide ₹1 million per family.
– Affordable housing for SC, ST, and minority communities.
– Attracting investments by creating a business-friendly environment.
– Expanding IT hubs and making Telangana a leader in AI and data centers.
He concluded by saying Telangana is leading the way in progress and innovation, stating, “Jaya Jayahe Telangana – a song of hope and inspiration for the future.”
