Hyderabad: Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has asked District Collectors to speed up the Indiramma housing scheme. The Telangana government is working on this project urgently to provide houses for the poor.
The Minister emphasized that the selection of beneficiaries should be done quickly and fairly, without any irregularities. He directed officials to complete the selection process within two or three days.
A review meeting was held at the Minister’s residence, with Forest Minister Konda Surekha, Advisor to the Chief Minister Vem Narender Reddy, Members of Parliament, legislators, and Warangal district Collectors in attendance. The Minister stated that the goal of the Indiramma government is to provide houses to all poor families.
He urged Collectors to follow the government’s vision and work accordingly. If they have any doubts about the scheme, they should contact him directly. He also instructed that the final decision on beneficiaries should be made by the Collector, considering the opinions of local legislators. The poor should be given the highest priority in the selection process.
The Minister also stressed the need to prepare for summer by ensuring there is no shortage of irrigation and drinking water. Additionally, he ordered officials to speed up land acquisition for the Airport, Outer Ring Road, and Inner Ring Road projects in Warangal district.
