Foundation Stone Laid for Amara Raja Giga Factory in Telangana
Union Minister for Railways, Electronics, and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with Telangana IT and Industries Minister, D. Sridhar Babu, laid the foundation stone for the Amara Raja Giga Factory-1 in Divitipally, Mahabubnagar, on Saturday. The factory is being set up with an investment of ₹3,225 crore and will house key industrial units such as Altmin Pvt Ltd, Lohum Materials Pvt Ltd, and Cell Energy Pvt Ltd.
Several dignitaries attended the event, including Telangana IT Minister Sridhar Babu, MP DK Aruna, MLA Yenam Srinivas Reddy, and Industries Corporation Chairman Nirmala Jagga Reddy. The foundation stone was laid following traditional Vedic rituals, and MP DK Aruna performed the Bhoomi Puja alongside the Union Minister.
Addressing the crowd in Telugu, Minister Vaishnaw greeted them with “Namaskaram, Baagunnara” (Hello, how are you?). He also made a humorous reference to the popular movie Pushpa, saying, “Pushpa Jhukega Nahi… Divitipalli ka Development Rukega Nahi!” (Pushpa will not bow down… Similarly, Divitipalli’s development will not stop!).
Speaking at the event, Vaishnaw highlighted the importance of battery technology for India’s future. He thanked the people of Mahabubnagar for supporting this industrial project and added, “With this company’s establishment, Telangana’s development is fully charged—just like a battery!”
The minister also announced that Divitipally railway station will be modernized as part of the region’s development. He pointed out that the Telangana railway budget has increased significantly under the Narendra Modi-led government, rising from ₹886 crore during the united Andhra Pradesh era to ₹5,337 crore exclusively for Telangana. He instructed architects and district officials to design a modern railway station that meets the future needs of the region.
