The Congress government in Telangana, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, planned to bring all political parties together to pressure the central government to speed up pending projects. However, this effort seems to be failing, as the two main opposition parties, the BJP and the BRS, are unlikely to attend the scheduled meeting on Saturday.

Revanth Reddy has often criticized the Gujarat model of governance, comparing it to a slow-paced Test match, while praising Telangana’s development model as a fast-moving T-20 format. To push for the state’s demands, he proposed leading an all-party delegation to Delhi.

To prepare for this, the Chief Minister called for an all-party meeting. Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka was given the task of personally inviting leaders from all parties, including Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, to join the discussions. The State Cabinet had earlier assigned Bhatti Vikramarka and senior Congress leader K Jana Reddy the responsibility of organizing these meetings.

Revanth Reddy has been urging Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay to help Telangana by persuading the central government to approve important projects. These include Metro Rail Phase-II, the Musi River rejuvenation project, the release of long-pending financial dues, and the fulfillment of promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

Both the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister also plan to highlight the financial difficulties Telangana faces in implementing these costly projects. They want support from MPs across different parties to bring up these issues during the upcoming budget session of Parliament.

Congress leaders believe that if the opposition parties refuse to attend the meeting, they will lose the right to criticize the government later. The ruling party argues that all parties should put aside political differences and work together for Telangana’s benefit. If any party refuses to cooperate, Congress claims, it will reveal their true intentions.
