Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will launch the ‘Indira Mahila Policy-2025’ on Saturday at a public meeting in Parade Grounds, Hyderabad. This event, held on International Women’s Day, aims to empower women Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Nearly one lakh women from across Telangana are expected to attend.

As part of the initiative, the Chief Minister will introduce schemes to financially support women. SHGs will receive allotment letters to set up 2MW solar power plants in all 32 districts. Additionally, women’s groups will be given financial aid to buy buses, which will be leased to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC). SHGs will also be allotted petrol pumps in district headquarters.

During the event, Revanth Reddy will also distribute recruitment orders for newly selected Anganwadi teachers and helpers. This follows the government’s decision to recruit over 14,000 staff for Anganwadi centers. New schemes under ‘Indira Mahila Shakti-2025’ will also be introduced.

The Chief Minister will explain the merger of the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) with the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA). This integration will help women’s groups secure loans for self-employment.

To ensure high participation, the TSRTC has arranged special buses to bring women from different districts. However, this has caused inconvenience for regular bus users in Hyderabad, as they had to wait longer due to a shortage of buses. Since temperatures are rising, the government has also made arrangements for drinking water and buttermilk for attendees.

Minister D. Seethakka, who oversees Women Development, Child Welfare, and Panchayat Raj, visited the venue to review the preparations. She instructed officials to closely manage the transportation facilities, especially for women traveling long distances from districts like Adilabad and Nizamabad.
