    A major two-day meeting of sports ministers and senior officials from across India is set to begin in Hyderabad on Friday. The goal of this meeting is to create a plan for India’s participation in the 2028 Olympics.

    Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, will lead this important discussion. The meeting, called Chintan Shivir, will focus on preparing for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and India’s bid to host the 2036 Olympics.

    The event will take place at Kanha Shanti Vanam on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Officials will discuss ways to help India win more medals in 2028, with hopes of achieving a double-digit medal count. India has also sent a letter of intent to the International Olympic Committee to express its interest in hosting the 2036 Olympics.

    Sports ministers from different states, senior sports administrators, and experts will attend the meeting. They will share ideas and strategies on how India can become a global sports leader.

    The discussions will focus on important topics such as improving sports governance, finding talented athletes at a young age, developing better sports facilities, and promoting inclusivity in sports. The meeting will also explore ways to collaborate with different organizations to strengthen India’s sports ecosystem.

    Union Minister Mandaviya will speak with key stakeholders to advance Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for Indian sports. State representatives will present their successful initiatives and innovative ideas.

    Some of the key topics of the Chintan Shivir include government sports schemes, partnerships with businesses for sports development, identifying and nurturing young talent, promoting fair governance in sports, expanding programs like Khelo India and Fit India, and ensuring the welfare of athletes and coaches.
