Actor Files Case Against ‘Pushpa-1’ Director and Team
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court heard a petition filed by actor and classical dancer Rayudu Sathya Prasad on Wednesday. He sought criminal action against Pushpa-1 director Sukumar and three others.
Prasad claimed that he was invited to act as a constable in the movie. However, he alleged that assistant directors Veeru Veerendra Singh, Praveen, director Sukumar, and producer Ravi (from Maithri Movies) humiliated him. According to Prasad, they forcibly removed his clothes, insulted him in front of the team, used abusive language, and even threatened to kill him if he revealed the incident.
Despite submitting written complaints to the police, Prasad stated that no FIR was registered, and no action was taken against the accused. He approached the court, seeking justice.
Justice Bollam Vijaysen Reddy questioned why the actor was insulted and pointed out that Pushpa-2 had already been released. He also noted that Prasad had filed the petition a long time after the alleged incident.
Prasad’s lawyer, Revanth, explained that his client was selected for the constable’s role during auditions. However, after facing humiliation, Prasad could not come to terms with the incident and avoided the movie.
Justice Reddy directed the Assistant Government Pleader (Home) to gather information from the police before the next hearing. The case was postponed to March 11.
