BJP leader and MP Dr. K Laxman has announced that the elections for new state party presidents will be completed by the end of March. He also dismissed concerns that southern states would be treated unfairly due to changes in parliamentary constituencies.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Dr. Laxman said that the BJP is working towards electing new state presidents for Telangana and other southern states by March.
Addressing concerns about the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies, he assured that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already promised there will be no reduction in the number of seats for southern states.
Dr. Laxman also mentioned that the delimitation process will begin after the completion of the population census. While the BJP is not against a caste-based census, he emphasized that it should be conducted scientifically to avoid concerns or complications. He further stated that the central government has not yet made a decision on the caste census issue.
