BRS Leaders Blame Government for SLBC Tunnel Incident
Hyderabad: The BRS leaders have accused the government of being responsible for the SLBC tunnel accident. On Friday, they questioned why cases were being filed against them just for asking the government about the issue.
At a press conference held at the Telangana Bhavan, BRS leaders V Srinivas Goud, B Lingaiah Yadav, Anjaiah Yadav, and M Anand stated that the accident happened due to government negligence. They claimed that despite workers warning about water leaking into the tunnel, the management forced them to continue working.
The leaders further alleged that even six days after the incident, no significant efforts had been made to remove the soil. They accused the government of taking only minimal action. They also criticized the ministers for merely visiting the site and staying in guest houses instead of taking real steps to resolve the issue.
Srinivas Goud questioned why cases were being filed against BRS leaders like Harish Rao, who visited the SLBC site. He asked if the government was treating them as if they were naxalites.
The BRS leaders also pointed out that when a pillar at Medigadda was damaged, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited the site. However, they questioned why he had not come to see the SLBC tunnel collapse.
