BC Leader Criticizes Kavitha Over Reservations Demand

BRS MLC Kavitha has no moral right to talk about Backward Classes (BCs) or demand 46% reservations for them, said M. Srinivas Sagar, the BC Samaj State Secretary and United Mahabubnagar District President.

Speaking at a press meet at the BC Samaj office in Mahabubnagar, Sagar accused Kavitha of remembering BCs only after losing power. He claimed that during the 10-year rule of the TRS (now BRS), BCs were ignored. Now, in an attempt to regain power, the party is trying to win their support.

Sagar criticized the previous TRS government for neglecting BCs while in office and now pretending to support their cause. He challenged Kavitha to prove her sincerity by giving an MLC seat to the Most Backward Classes (MBC) in the upcoming elections. “Only then will the BC community consider trusting them,” he stated.

He also questioned why the government, while in power, failed to release its survey report. He explained that if the report had been published, it would have required implementing 52% reservations for BCs, along with political, employment, and financial benefits. “After blocking such measures, talking about justice for BCs now is just political opportunism,” he alleged.

Sagar further demanded that Kavitha appoint a BC leader as the executive president of the party and promise to make a BC leader the Chief Minister if BRS returns to power. “Until then, she has no moral right to speak about BCs,” he said firmly.

He highlighted that Telangana has many BC intellectuals, political leaders, student leaders, and social activists actively working for BC rights. He condemned BRS for using BC issues only for political gain and warned that the BC community would not be misled.

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Padmashali Sangham State Vice President Sarangi Lakshmikant, Nai Brahmin Sangham Town President Ashwini Satyam, BC Samaj Joint District Co-Convener Satyanarayana Sagar, BC Samaj Devarakadra Constituency Convener B. Shekhar, and BC Samaj Mahabubnagar Town Co-Convener Vishwanatham.
