Hyderabad: To assure people that cooked chicken and eggs are safe to eat despite bird flu fears, the Poultry Breeders Coordination Association and the National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC) organized a special event.
On Saturday, they distributed free chicken and egg-based snacks in various places across Telangana. Some of the locations included Old Alwal, Bowenpally, Nampally, Attapur, Saroor Nagar, Hayat Nagar, Mansurabad, and Ramayanpet in Kamareddy. The event also took place in Hanamkonda in Warangal, Pragathi Nagar in Narsapur, Kalvakurthi Market Area, Kamarapalli Main Road in Armoor, Ramagiri Road in Nalgonda, Sircilla Ambedkar Statue, Zaheerabad Market Area, Gajwel RTC Bus Stand, Parigi Baharpet, and Chevella Moinabad areas.
During the event, the organizers explained to the public that the bird flu virus dies when chicken and eggs are cooked at 70 degrees Celsius. However, Indian cooking usually happens at temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius. This means that properly cooked chicken and eggs are completely safe to eat.
