BJP Leader Supports Villagers' Protest Against SCCL
BJP leader and former MLC Dr. Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy visited Kistaram village on Friday. He extended his support to villagers who are protesting against Singareni Collieries Company’s (SCCL) CHP silo bunker. The protest is being held through a relay hunger strike.
Speaking to the protesters, Dr. Reddy criticized SCCL for ignoring the serious health problems caused by coal dust pollution. He assured the villagers that he would take the issue to SCCL authorities, the Union Minister for Coal and Mines, and the State government to find a quick solution.
Dr. Reddy urged SCCL to follow environmental rules and ensure proper rehabilitation for the affected residents. He also demanded a vigilance inquiry into the poor-quality construction of the bunker.
