Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed deep concern over the long-standing neglect of Palamuru (Mahbubnagar) district. He criticized past governments for using the region’s poverty to gain attention instead of working on its development. Speaking at the Praja Palana – Pragati Bata public meeting in Narayanpet, he promised to bring real progress to the district.

    Neglect of Palamuru

The Chief Minister pointed out that many leaders had come and gone, but none had truly worked for Palamuru’s development. Instead, they only highlighted its struggles without solving them. He assured the people that his government would focus on real change.

    Water Crisis and Migration Issues

Revanth Reddy spoke about the severe water crisis in Palamuru, despite the region having abundant water resources. “Water brings prosperity, but even with 800 TMC of water flowing here, farmers are still struggling. Their hardships have not ended,” he said.

He also noted that while workers from Palamuru helped build irrigation projects across India, their own district remained barren. Because of this, many people were forced to migrate for jobs. “We will complete the pending projects and stop this migration,” he promised.

    Focus on Key Irrigation Projects

The Chief Minister emphasized that if the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme had been completed earlier, water disputes with neighboring states could have been avoided. He urged everyone to work together to finish important projects like Kalwakurthy, Bhima, Nettempadu, Koil Sagar, and Makthal-Narayanpet-Kodangal.

“The youth of Palamuru depend on these projects. I take full responsibility for the district’s development,” he declared.

Several ministers, MLCs, MLAs, and district advisors attended the meeting and pledged their support for the government’s plans.
