    Collector’s Surprise Visit to Girls’ Residential School

    Wanaparthy District: The District Collector, along with Additional Collector Local Bodies Sanchit Gangwar, made a surprise visit to the Telangana Social Welfare Girls Residential School in Kothakota Mandal Center on Thursday.

    During the visit, the Collector inspected the kitchen storage room and checked the registers. He emphasized the need for a mess committee in the school. He instructed that whenever kitchen supplies arrive, they should be unloaded in the presence of the students’ mess committee. He also insisted that an entry must be recorded in the register when new stock is received. Additionally, he advised that the expiry dates of all kitchen items should be checked regularly.

    To ensure transparency, the mess committee gathered students and inquired if they were signing upon stock arrival. The Collector stressed the importance of student involvement in this process.

    During his visit, the Collector had a meal with the students. While interacting with them, he suggested that supervisors should taste the food before serving it. If the food is not up to standard, it should be cooked again to maintain quality. He emphasized that only good-quality food should be provided to the students.

    Speaking to class 10 students, the Collector asked about their food and accommodation. The students responded that they were satisfied. He encouraged them to study hard and secure good marks in their board exams.

    The visit was also attended by Social Welfare Department Officer Mallikarjun, Tehsildar Venkatesh, School Principal Madhavi, and other officials.
