Sudhakar, a resident of Bhupalpally district, recently faced an issue while shopping at Smart Point. On Sunday, he purchased essential goods, and his bill was supposed to be Rs 3,528. However, he was charged Rs 4,813, an excess of Rs 1,285.

When Sudhakar returned home and reviewed his bill, he noticed the mistake. He went back to the store, where the staff checked the CCTV footage and admitted that an error had occurred. However, when he questioned them about the extra charge, they responded carelessly, calling it a computer mistake and saying it would take time to fix. They asked him to return later instead of resolving the issue immediately.

Feeling dissatisfied with their response and wanting to prevent others from facing similar problems, Sudhakar decided to take action. On Monday, he filed a written complaint with the District Chairman of the Consumer Forum, Sirangi Govardhan.

Govardhan stated that cheating consumers is a serious offense. After receiving the complaint, he visited Smart Point to inspect the situation. He gathered details from Sudhakar and later spoke to local reporters, assuring them that the Consumer Rights Commission stands by consumers. He also mentioned that all necessary details would be collected and submitted to the State Consumer Rights Commission for further action.
