Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently made comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he is a “legally converted BC.” These remarks have led to strong criticism from BJP leaders in Telangana.
Union Minister of State for Home, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, dismissed the Chief Minister’s statement, calling it a desperate attempt to distract people. He also questioned the caste and religion of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.
On Friday, Bandi Sanjay posted on X (formerly Twitter), calling the Chief Minister’s remarks a way to divert attention from the issue of 42% BC reservation. He stated that BJP remains firm in its stance against Muslim reservations and will oppose any such attempts.
He further criticized the Chief Minister, saying he failed to research the Prime Minister’s caste properly. Sanjay pointed out that Narendra Modi had already been listed as an OBC in 1994 when the Congress was in power.
Additionally, he questioned Rahul Gandhi’s caste and religion. He noted that in Hindu tradition, caste follows the father’s lineage, and Rahul Gandhi’s grandfather was Feroz Jehangir Gandhi. He suggested that if the Chief Minister wanted to debate conversions, he should start with the Congress leadership at 10, Janpath.
