The Sri Chakra Theertham ritual was celebrated grandly at the Patagutta Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple as part of the annual Brahmotsavam festival on Wednesday. Temple priests conducted the ritual with great devotion.
The day started with regular poojas, followed by the Maha Poornahuti ritual. Later, the idols of Sri Swamy and Ammavaru were beautifully decorated and placed in a special palanquin for a grand procession through the temple streets.
After the procession, the Sri Chakra Snanam (holy bath) was performed in the temple’s sacred pond, known as Pushkarini. Many devotees eagerly gathered to collect the Sri Chakra Theertham from the pond, as they believed it to be highly sacred.
Temple EO Bhaskar Rao, hereditary trustee B. Narasimha Murthy, along with temple authorities and priests, participated in the event.
Later in the night, several rituals were performed, including Devatodvasana, Sri Pushpayagam, and Dola Arohana.
The grand Brahmotsavam celebrations will conclude on Thursday with the Shata Ghatabhishekam ritual.
