Ministers D Sridhar Babu and Konda Surekha visited Chilkur Balaji Temple on Tuesday. They met the temple’s chief priest, C S Rangarajan, to show their support after he was attacked by a group called ‘Rama Rajyam.’
The Ministers strongly condemned the attack and assured the priest that the government would take strict action against those responsible. They emphasized that spreading hatred and violence in the name of religion would not be tolerated.
Sridhar Babu later posted on social media, saying that the government would stand firmly against such acts. He assured that priests, temples, and cultural values would be protected.
Konda Surekha also spoke about the importance of religious freedom. She said that forcing one’s beliefs on others goes against freedom of expression. She reaffirmed that the Congress government is committed to safeguarding the rights of people from all religions, as guaranteed by the Indian Constitution. She added that any form of injustice would be dealt with firmly.
