The Telangana State Drugs Control Administration (DCA) officials recently raided a clinic in Risala Bazar, Alwal (Medchal-Malkajgiri district). The clinic was being run by a person without proper medical qualifications.
During the raid, officials found 28 different types of medicines, including antibiotics, steroids, painkillers, and anti-ulcer drugs. These medicines, worth Rs 30,000, were being stored without a valid license.
Among the antibiotics found were Amoxicillin, Cefixime, Ofloxacin, and Azithromycin. The Director-General of DCA, VB Kamalasan Reddy, warned that selling antibiotics without proper qualifications can be dangerous. It can lead to serious public health issues, including the development of antimicrobial resistance.
